A GUIDE FROM SCHOOL OF FIREWALKING

What is
firewalking?

A walk across embers within a learning process. Discover the difference between participating, training to facilitate and working with a team.

Firewalking training: DAIF

WALKING ON EMBERS

One activity.
A purpose
for learning.

Firewalking involves walking across a bed of embers. At our school, the walk is part of an experience designed to explore how we respond to a challenge.

The activity can raise questions about confidence, decision-making and our relationship with a group. Learning develops through preparation and reflection; each person may interpret their experience differently.

School of Firewalking was founded by Charly Relaño and Sonia Rupérez. Their approach combines purpose, preparation and integration in their work with people and teams.

THREE DIFFERENT GOALS

Experience, training
and teamwork.

01

Experience firewalking

Take part in a guided experience and make time to reflect on it. You do not need to pursue a career as a facilitator to explore this path.

02

Learn to facilitate

If you are looking for a firewalking instructor course, review the professional preparation it provides. DAIF is our certification in high-impact experiences and firewalking.

BEFORE CHOOSING A SCHOOL

Ask about
the whole process.

A photo of a fire does not explain a training program. Ask for the curriculum, the role of practical work, completion criteria and the conditions of the certificate.

Find out who teaches the sessions, what support they provide and how preparation of the setting is addressed. Ask about dates, language, investment and booking conditions too.

For a participatory experience, ask how the activity is introduced and how the choice to participate is respected. For a corporate program, explain your goals and team characteristics from the first conversation.

FIREWALKING QUESTIONS

Answers to your first questions.

What is firewalking?

Firewalking is a walk across a bed of embers. At School of Firewalking, it is part of a learning experience that includes preparation, facilitation and reflection afterward.

Does participating make me a firewalking instructor?

No. Taking part in a firewalk and learning to facilitate one are different processes. Professional training covers design, preparation, group facilitation and integration of learning.

How do I choose firewalking training?

Compare the curriculum, practical work, trainers' experience, assessment criteria, scope of the certificate and follow-up support. Ask for written conditions before booking.

Can I participate without pursuing certification?

Yes. Our experiential programs are for participants who want to experience and reflect. DAIF certification is for professionals interested in facilitating experiences.

Can firewalking be used for corporate team building?

It can form part of a team event. The design should start with the company's goals, the participants and the context of the event.

In which countries and languages does the school operate?

School of Firewalking offers training in Europe–Spain, the United States and Latin America, in Spanish and English, including bilingual training. Check the location and language of each edition.
